Thousands of women from across Alimosho Federal Constituency in Lagos State gathered on January 24 for the first-ever Women’s Constituency Meeting organised by Hon. Abolanle Afolabi, the Alimosho Women President of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The event, held at the African Church Primary School in Akinogun, brought together participants from every Local Government Area and Local Council Development Area within Alimosho.

It served as a platform to mobilise women for political engagement, emphasising their role in nation-building and community service.

This was not merely a meeting; it was a strategic assembly, a powerful convergence of Alimisho women.

A notable grassroots mobiliser, Afolabi transformed this gathering into a formidable rallying point, a clarion call to recognise the indispensable force of Alimosho women in nation-building and community service.

Addressing the gathering, Afolabi outlined key priorities including formalising women’s involvement through APC membership registration, promoting continuous voter registration to strengthen electoral participation, and launching a grassroots campaign in support of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 reelection bid.

She highlighted the Tinubu administration’s achievements over the past two years, emphasising reforms in economic architecture and policies aimed at advancing women’s emancipation and development.

Afolabi stressed that continuing these progressive reforms is essential for Nigeria’s prosperity and stability.

The meeting marked a shift toward organised and active political participation among Alimosho women, positioning them as a key force in the APC’s agenda for renewed hope and national renewal.
