Prominent Nigerians, including serving and former governors, political leaders, traditional rulers, military officers and business executives, converged on Lagos to celebrate the traditional marriage and wedding ceremonies of Dr. Oghenekome Egukawhore, son of Niger Delta leader and Chairman of Dewayles Group of Companies, High Chief Dr. Emonena Wayles Egukawhore.
The ceremonies, held on September 3 and 5, 2026, marked the union between Dr. Oghenekome Egukawhore and former Miss Stephanie Spencer, who is now Mrs. Stephanie Egukawhore.
The high-profile ceremonies attracted notable personalities from across the country, reflecting the wide network of political, business and traditional leaders associated with the Egukawhore family.
Among the dignitaries who attended were the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori; Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri; Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji; and the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Peter Pereotubo Akpe.
Former Delta State Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, was also among the distinguished guests, alongside the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, and a representative of the Ondo State Governor.
The wedding celebrations also drew serving and former senators, members of the House of Representatives, lawmakers from various State Houses of Assembly, as well as serving and former commissioners, local government chairmen and other political leaders.
Senior serving and retired military officers were also in attendance, alongside prominent figures in the banking, oil and gas and other sectors of the Nigerian economy.
Chairmen of banks, chief executive officers, managing directors and other business executives joined family members and friends to celebrate the union of Oghenekome and Stephanie.
Traditional rulers, royal fathers and chiefs, particularly from Delta, Bayelsa and Ekiti states, also attended the ceremonies, lending a strong cultural and traditional presence to the colourful celebrations.
The events featured traditional marriage rites, music, dancing and cultural displays as guests gathered to celebrate the beginning of the couple’s marital journey.
One of the memorable moments of the celebration came when the father of the groom, High Chief Emonena Wayles Egukawhore, joined guests on the dance floor in an energetic display that drew applause and excitement from those present.

Speaking during an appreciation session, High Chief Egukawhore thanked the governors, former Governor Ibori, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, legislators, military officers, traditional rulers, business leaders, family members and friends who took time to attend the ceremonies.
He expressed particular appreciation to guests who travelled from different parts of Nigeria to join the family in celebrating the important occasion.
According to him, the large turnout of dignitaries, friends and associates was a demonstration of the goodwill, friendship and affection shared between the Egukawhore family and their guests.
