As part of his effort to boost Igbo culture  in the Diaspora, His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr. Douglas  Okwara  Okwarchukwu IV, Obi Ebeasa Umuna, Orlu Imo State on the 20th of Jully 2024  attended the Orlu cultural Day in Munich,Germany  where he charged Ndigbo of Orlu extraction  to maintain  their stand as economic capital of Imo state.

In his address, while praying and breaking the kolanut, HRM Okwara hail Ndigbo  in Munich, Germany, for keeping  Igbo culture  alive in the Diaspora. “I am happy to see you in large number attired in Igbo cloths. you have made me proud. Seeing the young boys and girls with their parents gives us hope for a greater tomorrow. I shall take this good message to your brothers and sisters in Nigeria that you have kept Igbo culture alive in Germany, ” He said

In a special  tribute  to Orlu people and made available  by Orlu Zonal Association, Munich, Germany, it reads: “Orlu is a home of enterprise  and also known as the commercial  capital of Imo State.Many successful  Nigerian Bussiness men  women and industrialists  hail from the 12 local government  areas that make the Orlu senatorial  zone. They include Orlu,Orsu, Isu, Njaba, Nkwere, Ideato North, Ideato South, Oru East, Oru West, Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta.

“When all the LGAs in the zone are combined, the population  of Orlu people is estimated  to be 3 million.

“The city centre of the Local Government  is within the host community of Umuna , Orlu Gedegwum, Amifeke, Okporo and Owerre Ebe Iri .

The highlight of the event was the official launch of the Oza Masqurade and the Oza musical instrument.
