Foluwake Yetunde aka EFWY has brought a fresh breath of air to the Nigerian music space with her single, Gele Yaya.
In a chat with TS weekend, the singer said: “Gele Yaya is a song designed to make you happy and just have fun. You will notice that Nigerians are fun loving people. Despite the recession, they party everyday and that is just to let off the stress. So, Gele Yaya is designed to let you offload stress in a fun and relaxing way. The video and audio of Gele Yaya are available online for download.”
EFWY started writing poems in school. However, with time, she started converting her poems to songs, and ever since, she has never looked back.
As a mother of two, how does she combine music with working and motherhood: “My mum has been very supportive. It is tough being mother but somehow I get by. It has been a little difficult combining music and motherhood, but with the help of my mum, I have been able to strike a balance.”
