From Timothy Olanrewaju, Maiduguri
Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has distributed 63 patrol vehicles to security agencies and the state-backed Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) to tackle insurgency in the state.
Zulum while handing over the vehicles to heads of security agencies in the state and CJTF on Tuesday in Maiduguri, said the vehicles were parts of support to end insurgency and other crimes in the state.
“I assure you that the government of Borno State under my leadership, will continue to support you with a view to achieving the noble objectives of ensuring the state is rid of insurgency,” he declared.
The governor explained that 30 of the vehicles go to the CJTF, 16 to the police-led Rapid Response and Anti-Social Vices, 10 for other paramilitary organisations, six for the hunters while the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP) got one.
