The last time I saw Grace, she was just done with her 300L exam as a law student at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko. Faced with the herculean task of National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) and Nigerian Law School.

These were two daunting challenges law students faced however she was lucky to be selected as one of the ten final year law students of Kayode Akinsola’s mentorship program for law students.

The program which was held between October and November 2022 attracted law students in their final year , young lawyers and lawyers school students. With over two decades of experience as a lawyer, Kayode Akinsola alongside some of his fellow colleagues became a coach to some of the attendees, taking them through the rigorous and mental task of being a lawyer.

That’s who Kayode Akinsola is, the erstwhile special assistant to Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State. The young, cerebral and youthful University of Ibadan trained lawyer has always been at the forefront of change in Nigeria with a particular focus on South Western Nigeria, via his laudable initiatives, Kayode has always been a change agent.

Born to Pa Johnson Akinsola and Mrs. Comfort Akinsola in Abeokuta. Young Kayode went to the Methodist Primary School, Ago Oko, in Abeokuta, Nigeria for his primary school education. He later obtained his bachelor’s degree in law from the Nigerian Premier University, in Ibadan. He completed his master’s in laws (LLM) and Ph.D. in International Business laws from Charisma University. Akinsola also holds an executive MBA from the Business School Netherlands.

In his quest for further education, Kayode Akinsola later attended some management courses and obtained certification at schools like Harvard Business School; Lagos Business School; the Institute of Management Consultants USA; the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and the Daystar Leadership Academy amongst others.

Kayode Akinsola is a lawyer in Africa who works in multiple jurisdictions and travels worldwide to meet his clients’ needs. As a consultant, he has worked with both public and private organizations. After graduating, he joined the Nigerian bar to work as a solicitor and advocate for the Nigerian Supreme Court.

In 2013, Kayode Akinsola pioneered Queens Attorneys LP (a Nigerian Lawyer Firm in Lagos) and served as the first managing partner of the firm. Working in his capacity, Akinsola oversees the Lagos and Ogun State offices and other international contacts. Through Queens Attorneys, Akinsola has worked with major financial institutions in Nigeria.

Akinsola speaks at conferences worldwide and has contributed to several books and journals. He is a Fellow of the Institutes of Management Consultants and Business Diplomacy. Akinsola is also a guest lecturer at Chrisland University, where he has taught many students who are now leaders in their respective fields.

Akinsola is married to his wife Adenike Akinsola and has two children: David Kingston and Greatness Elizabeth.
