Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), said they have foiled multiple terrorist attacks and dismantled insurgent logistics networks across Borno State.
According to the spokesman of the Joint Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Uba Sani, troops stationed at Damboa intercepted a planned Boko Haram/ISWAP attack after detecting the terrorists’ movements using advanced surveillance systems.
The spokesman said troops engaged the insurgents, forcing them to retreat in disarray. He added that follow-up operations confirmed that the terrorists had fled the area.
Meanwhile, similar engagements occurred in Gwoza and Askira Uba Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Borno State, where troops repelled attempted attacks by insurgents targeting farmers and communities. The terrorists were forced to retreat towards the Mandara Mountains and adjoining areas.
In a continuation of offensive operations, troops uncovered and safely detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) along the Goniri–Ngamdu axis. The IED had been planted to target both troops and commuters. The recovery of materials, including rail tracks used to channel vehicles into a killing zone, further highlighted the insurgents’ attempts to disrupt movement along critical routes.
In addition, troops made significant headway in curbing insurgent logistics supply chains. Two suspected Boko Haram collaborators were arrested at Molai while loitering in a defensive area under suspicious circumstances. In Maiduguri, troops intercepted two vehicles transporting large quantities of suspected terrorist supplies, including medical drugs, motorcycle tubes, mosquito nets, and air filter cylinders. Preliminary investigations revealed the goods were en route to Kusuri, a border community near Chad.

The intercepted vehicles, their drivers, and the seized goods were handed over to authorities for further investigation.
Furthermore, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), OPHK troops arrested 26-year-old Mohammed Adamu, a suspected logistics supplier, at Muna Garage. Adamu was found with 25 litres of engine oil, N624,900, mobile phones, a power bank, and ATM cards. Investigations indicated he had been supplying materials, including motorcycle parts, to terrorists for a significant period.
In a related operation at Gubio, OPHK troops, intelligence operatives, and the CJTF arrested 13 suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and collaborators. Two additional suspects were apprehended and confessed to their involvement in providing logistics to terrorists.
Troops also arrested a suspected member of the JAS/ISWAP group, Abubakar Ali, alias “Saina”, at the Kilo Papa checkpoint on his way to Maiduguri. Ali, upon interrogation, admitted to being on a reconnaissance mission and was handed over to the appropriate authorities.
Additionally, a suspected kidnapper was arrested in the Azir area of Damboa Local Government Area, and security operations at Wulgo Junction, Gamboru Motor Park, and surrounding areas led to the recovery of 450 wraps of suspected marijuana and other illicit substances. The suspected drug peddlers fled upon sighting the troops.
The Military High Command has commended the troops for their professionalism, vigilance, and resilience, urging them to maintain the operational momentum to continue denying terrorists the freedom to operate in the region, which remains vital for the security and stability of the North East.
