Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has said that the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have significantly improved revenue generation, enabling states to embark on massive development projects across the country.

The governor stated this in Lafia during the All Progressives Congress (APC) North-Central Zonal Constitution Review Meeting held on Thursday.

Sule commended President Tinubu for the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange rate, describing them as bold and necessary steps that have revitalized the nation’s economy.

“We commend Mr. President for the reforms he has done in the area of the withdrawal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange,” the governor said.

“Those two major reforms have produced what we are seeing today in the form of improved revenues that are accruing to the federal, state, and local governments,” he added.

The governor disclosed that Nasarawa State had recorded more infrastructural progress in the last two years compared to its first four years, attributing the feat to improved fiscal inflows and prudent resource management.

“That is the reason why I have informed this delegation that met me earlier that everything you see in Nasarawa, because indeed, in Nasarawa State in the last two years, we have done more infrastructure than we did in the last four years of our administration,” he stated.

“All these infrastructure that you see in Lafia are being duplicated also in the other zones. But more importantly, we are doing a lot when it comes to alleviating poverty, improving investment, attracting mining and processing activities, and improving our revenue,” he added.

Sule urged party stakeholders to fully participate in the APC constitutional review process by submitting memoranda aimed at strengthening internal democracy and repositioning the party for greater inclusivity.

He described the APC as a political platform that has continued to attract Nigerians who believe in good governance and national development.

“The APC today is like a Noah’s Ark for everyone who believes in good governance. There is no better time to look at the constitution of our party than now,” the governor said.

The event, which drew party leaders and delegates from across the North-Central zone, was part of the nationwide effort by the APC to review its constitution to align with current realities and improve internal party administration.
