The spokesman of the Kwankwasiyya Movement in Kano State, Habibu Sale Mohammed, has declared his candidacy for the Kano State House of Assembly under the ticket of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Addressing the members of his constituency at the weekend in Kano, he pledged to provide a representation that “listens, speaks courageously, works diligently, and remains accountable.”
Mohammed said the campaign begins at a time when many communities in Fagge Constituency face pressing challenges such as youth unemployment, limited support for women, gaps in schools and healthcare, and poor infrastructure.
He also noted that Fagge’s role as a major commercial hub in the state and the country places an extra responsibility on government to deliver basic services.
The former Chairman of Fagge Local Government cited his record in office as proof of commitment.

He outlined a six-point agenda focused on education, youth empowerment, women’s economic support, healthcare, infrastructure, and accountability.
Speaking on politics, Mohammed called for a peaceful and issue-based campaign and said the NDC platform reflects values of fairness and social justice consistent with the Kwankwasiyya Movement.
He acknowledged recent political disappointments in Kano State but urged supporters to remain disciplined and focused on the people’s interests.
