Felix Morka, spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has criticised Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the running mate to Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), over his comments on the 2027 presidential election.
Kwankwaso had on Monday urged Atiku Abubakar to withdraw from the presidential race and support the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket in the 2027 election.
He asked the former vice-president to step aside, citing his age and health, and said Atiku would be “taken care of” if the NDC wins the election.
Reacting in an X post on Saturday, Morka said the opposition was negotiating the presidency they had yet to win.
“At last, the veil comes off … behold the whited sepulchre … they pretend to be saints on the outside but filled with stench of corruption and malignant hypocrisy on the inside,” he wrote.
Morka said Nigerian voters would determine the outcome of the 2027 presidential election, adding that the opposition would not emerge victorious.
“Horse trading with the presidency they do not have, and will not have, by the sovereign will of the Nigerian electorate, come 2027,” Morka said.
Atiku, who will turn 81 next year, has said the 2027 election will be his final attempt at the presidency.
