From Lateef Dada, Osogbo
Association of Peers of Heaven, Emeres, has warned Nigerians against cursing the country if they want things to change for better.
Speaking in Osogbo, Osun State, when delegates of the association from the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Brazil and Venezuela converged for their annual convention, the General Overseer of the group, Priestess Elebuibon Oyelola, attributed the hardship in Nigeria to the negative words of the people, saying the country would have joy if people stopped cursing leaders and the country.
“Our message to Nigerians from this festival is that we should stop all negative proclamation about our land. “Whatever negative thing we say with our mouth, we may experience it if we don’t work hard to prevent it from happening. Nigerians should begin to say positive things about this country.
“We should not overreach ourselves. We should stop raining curses on our leaders. If a leader is not doing what we want, heaping curses on him would not help the situation,” Oyelola said.
According to her, the objective of the group is to foster unity among members of peers globally with a view to forming a formidable force against all evils confronting humanity.
She said: “One of our major objectives is to bring heavenly mates across the world under one umbrella to confront negative energy on earth. If we are united, we can always defeat negative forces with our positive energies,” Oyelola added.
A delegate from Texas, United States, Osunlola Green, said she always enjoys the comradeship the gathering offered, as well as the opportunity to meet other heavenly peers in Nigeria, as she called on members in other parts of the world to join the annual gathering.
The group under the aegis of Progressive Peers of Heaven performed many cultural and spiritual endeavours at the event, including propitiation to the spiritual beings, public lecture on the peculiarity of their being, as well as singing and dancing.
