Kaduna State chapter of Meyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has called on President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani to institute a high powered panel of inquiry over recent attacks and killing of some of their kinsmen in Southern Kaduna allegedly by some locals in the area.
A statement by the chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Abdulhamid Musa Albarka, said on September 28, 2025, at Tanda Village, Jema’a Local Government Area, four of their men who are herders were attacked by locals, killing one and injuring three others while they were in grazing zone.
“On September 28, 2025, at Tanda Village, Jema’a Local Government Area, a group of peaceful Fulani herders—namely Suleiman Idris, Yusuf Abdullahi, Hamidu Dauda, and Ibrahim Hassan—were ambushed and attacked by armed ethnic militias.
“Their only “offence” was questioning why their long-established Cattle Route had been unlawfully blocked by local militias. In the ensuing violence, Suleiman Idris was brutally murdered in cold blood, while Yusuf Abdullahi, Hamidu Dauda, and Ibrahim Hassan sustained severe and permanent injuries.
“Their cattle, the only means of sustenance for their families, were scattered into the wilderness. This was not a misunderstanding nor a spontaneous clash; it was a deliberate, premeditated assault on innocent and unarmed citizens — a calculated act aimed at annihilating their community and livelihood.
“In light of these grave developments, MACBAN hereby demands in the interest of peace, justice, and call on President Bola Tinubu to institute a High-Powered Judicial Panel of Inquiry to investigate the killings in Southern Kaduna and the culpability of security operatives and local officials.
“Review and overhaul the national security architecture, particularly the structure of Operation Safe Haven and related commands, to ensure balanced representation, professionalism, and accountability.
“Reprimand, redeploy, or retire all officers whose actions or inactions have contributed to the escalation of violence, including those in command positions within the area of operations.
“The peace initiative of Governor Uba Sani is being sabotaged by rogue officials and compromised commanders whose actions or silence perpetuate division.

“We therefore call on Governor Uba Sani immediately investigate and suspend Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara, Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Council, for his alleged role in obstructing justice and promoting ethnic hostility.
“MACBAN reaffirms its commitment to peace, dialogue, and lawful coexistence-but we insist that peace cannot
be built on the graves of the innocent. Justice must prevail, or the fragile peace in Kaduna will disintegrate beyond repair.
The governor should reinforce the peace and reconciliation frameworks initiated by his administration to restore confidence among all communities.
“Federal Government should ensure adequate and sustained deployment of security forces to protect vulnerable settlements in Southern Kaduna. Disarm and prosecute all armed militias responsible for the Tanda Village attack and previous atrocities.
“Compensate victims’ families, particularly those of Suleiman Idris, Yusuf Abdullahi, Hamidu Dauda, and Ibrahim Hassan, whose suffering embodies the ongoing injustice.
“We express our deep pains and outrage over the recurring pattern of violence, injustice, and betrayal against our peace-loving members in Southern Kaduna.
“We decry in the strongest terms the recent coordinated attacks on Fulani Herders, the complacency of certain security operatives, and the brazen obstruction of justice by some local officials.
“It is unconscionable that citizens who have lived peacefully and lawfully for generations should continue to face persecution under the very watch of the agencies mandated to protect them.
“We urge the Presidency and the National Security Council to ensure that no officer, regardless of rank or origin, allows personal or ethnic affiliations to override the national duty to defend every Nigerian equally”. The statement said.
