Management of Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) on Tuesday announced resumption of normal passenger train service along Port-Harcourt-Aba railway corridor.
This followed successful testing of Locomotive engine with registration number 2223 which was declared fit for service after a breakdown at Imo River last Wednesday.
According to a statement signed by Public Relations Officer, Eastern District of the Corporation Dr.Onyedikachi Onovo, on behalf of management, passengers who previously held tickets for the disrupted service will travel free of charge, while new passengers will enjoy a 50% discount on fares as a gesture of goodwill.
He apologized for the disruption of service and assured the public of continued commitment to safe, reliable and customer friendly rail services across the country.
