Kaduna State Police Command has achieved significant operational successes, arresting 523 suspects for various criminal activities, including kidnapping, cattle rustling, phone snatching, and rape, since October 21 this year.
Commissioner of Police for the command, Ibrahim Abdullahi, disclosed this during a press briefing at the Command’s headquarters in Kaduna on Monday.
According to him, the Command recovered five AK47 rifles, two pistols, one submachine gun, 283 rustled cows, 20 sheep, 105 rounds of live ammunition, and rescued 102 kidnap victims.
Notable operations include the foiling of a kidnapping attempt, rescue of 89 victims, and recovery of a fabricated AK47 rifle and five rounds of live ammunition.
The police also arrested a suspected gun runner, recovered a submachine gun, and apprehended a two-man syndicate of cell phone thieves.
Other successes include the recovery of a stolen vehicle, arrest of six suspects, and rescue of two kidnap victims.
The Command, however, assured the public of its commitment to maintaining law and order, strengthening community policing, and fighting against all forms of criminality in the State.
