The streets of Ajegunle were filled with music and celebration on February 8, 2025, as the 12th edition of “Jamming for Jesus” took place. This annual gospel music outreach, organised by evangelist and gospel singer, Olufunmi Adebayo (aka Holy Soja), transcended entertainment, becoming a powerful platform for evangelism, community development and much-needed medical aid.

Okito Junction by Banana Bus Stop was transformed into a vibrant hub of faith and goodwill. Renowned gospel music artistes like Righteous Man, Ifeanyi Godwin, and Ethel Osita Nnadi graced the stage, leading attendees in worship and praise. But “Jamming for Jesus” offered more than just uplifting melodies.

In line with Adebayo’s vision of holistic ministry, the event provided free medical checkups, food distribution, and support for the elderly and underprivileged. Nurse Okoye Prisca, heading the medical team, reported over 500 people receiving blood pressure and sugar level checks, with critical cases referred for further treatment.

This year’s event held special significance, coinciding with Adebayo’s 60th birthday. Though in the United States, she addressed the crowd via live video call, expressing gratitude and emphasizing the importance of faith, love and community. Her son, Jude Osagie, reinforced the message of generosity, highlighting the programme’s 12-year history of sharing love and lifting the community.

The impact of “Jamming for Jesus” and the Olufunmi Adebayo Aged Care Charity Organization was palpable in the testimonies of beneficiaries. Tinuike Onofowokan, who received crucial medical assistance from Adebayo after an amputation, shared her emotional story of recovery and renewed hope. Seun Joseph, another beneficiary, expressed gratitude for the foundation’s commitment to the less privileged.

Adebayo’s journey, from childhood singing to leading church choirs and founding a Christian dance troupe, has been one of unwavering dedication. Her latest single, “The Prodigal Child,” adds to her impressive musical repertoire, spreading a message of redemption and God’s enduring love.

“Jamming for Jesus” has become a beacon of hope in Ajegunle, demonstrating the transformative power of gospel music and compassionate service. As the outreach expands, its positive influence is sure to ripple throughout Nigeria and beyond.
