An aide to Afrobeats star Davido, Damilare Aladegbola, popularly known as Dre, has offered a cash reward to anyone who returns his phone, which he claims was stolen during rapper Zlatan Ibile’s wedding ceremony in Lagos.
Dre made the appeal on Monday through his Instagram account, asking the person who allegedly took the device to return it in exchange for money.
“If na u carry my phone for Zlatan wedding, abeg return am, I go give you money please,” he wrote in Pidgin English.
The aide also expressed frustration over what he suggested was a recurring problem at social events, alleging that phones were sometimes taken from tables when waiting staff approached guests to clear their plates.
He warned that the experience would make him suspicious of such interactions at future parties.
Dre’s appeal has drawn attention to concerns about the security of personal belongings at crowded social gatherings, where guests may leave phones and other valuables on tables while eating or interacting with other attendees.
Zlatan recently married his longtime partner, Davita Lamai, with the ceremony attracting celebrities, friends and well-wishers.
Davido was among the prominent guests at the event and reportedly led the groomsmen.
Zlatan had earlier shared photographs of the couple on his official Instagram page ahead of their traditional wedding ceremony, announcing the occasion with the words, “IT’s TIME TO MARRY”.
The wedding attracted significant attention on social media, with celebrities and fans celebrating the couple.
However, Dre’s appeal for the return of his phone has added an unexpected twist to the celebrations, as he continues to seek the recovery of his missing device.
