A security guard, Haruna Ali, 36, was arraigned in Lagos on Thursday for repeatedly defiling a 10-year-old girl through her anus.
The accused, who resides at No. 23, Adedokun St., Mushin, is facing a count charge of defiling a minor before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Eruada Victor, told the court that the accused, on several occasions lured the minor with gifts and defiled her through the anus in his house.
Victor said that the matter was reported to the police after the minor confessed to her parents that she had been defiled several times by the accused.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Sections 137 of the Criminal Code of Lagos State, 2011.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr F. A. Azeez, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case till April 6 for advice from the state’s Director of Public Prosecutions.
