Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, on Monday commissioned the 26-kilometre Federal Housing Estate Road Network in Bajabure, describing the project as a deliberate investment in people-centred development and a clear signal of his administration’s resolve to deliver tangible results.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Governor Fintiri said the road project goes beyond physical infrastructure, noting that it represents a commitment to improving daily life, strengthening economic activities, and deepening social connections within communities. According to him, the project marks a purposeful way of beginning 2026 with “concrete actions rather than hollow promises.”
He recalled that the project was flagged off in May 2024 under what he described as the “Fresh Air” development agenda, stressing that the administration remains firmly opposed to abandoned projects. “What we flagged off then, we are commissioning today,” the governor said, reaffirming that all projects awarded by his government would be completed and delivered to standard.
Governor Fintiri explained that roads remain central to Adamawa’s development strategy, as they connect farmers to markets, residents to healthcare facilities, students to schools, and businesses to wider economic opportunities. He emphasised that infrastructure, for his administration, is not an afterthought but a foundation for inclusive growth and shared prosperity.
The governor also assured residents that no part of the state would be left behind in the development drive, stating that Bajabure and the wider Girei area hold significant promise and potential. He added that leadership demands consistency, accountability, and the courage to prioritise citizens’ welfare above politics and personal convenience.
While appreciating residents for their patience during the construction period, Governor Fintiri urged the community to take ownership of the road by using and protecting it responsibly so it can serve future generations. He further addressed the youth, linking their aspirations to sustained investments in infrastructure, education, and healthcare.
The governor commended Messrs Triacta Nigeria Limited for delivering the project “with speed and precision,” noting that quality execution remains a key expectation of his administration.
The ceremonial commissioning was performed by former Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, who was invited by the governor to formally open the road for public use.
The newly commissioned road network is expected to significantly improve mobility, boost economic activities within the Federal Housing Estate and surrounding communities, and further integrate the area into Adamawa State’s socio-economic landscape.
