The Federal Government has boosted its Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots by commissioning a 50-bed primary healthcare centre, a children’s recreational centre, and 36 new classrooms in Lagos State.
The projects, delivered by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs), were commissioned across communities in Alimosho Local Government Area.
The healthcare and recreational facilities were built in Egbeda, and the two classroom blocks were also built at Orisumibare Primary School.
Speaking through the Secretary of Programme, Suzanne Sado, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, stated that the projects reflected President Bola Tinubu’s focus on human capital development and social inclusion.
“A healthy child needs quality healthcare, safe opportunities to play and develop, as well as a conducive classroom in which to learn.

“By bringing these interventions together, we are investing in the full development of the child and strengthening the foundations of a healthier, safer, and better-educated society,” Orelope-Adefulire said.
The 50-bed health facility features operating theatres, recovery rooms, private and general wards, consultation rooms, a delivery room, intensive care units, a laboratory, an ambulance, and a furnished 12-room staff quarters.
Orelope-Adefulire urged local authorities to ensure proper staffing and maintenance to guarantee long-term service delivery.
She also emphasised the value of the new Children’s Recreational Centre for emotional and physical development, while noting that the 36 new classrooms would ease overcrowding at Orisumibare Primary School.
The Chairman, Alimosho Local Government, Akinpelu Johnson, who commended the initiatives, thanked Tinubu and Orelope-Adefulire for the investments.
He also acknowledged the traditional rulers, who provided land and local support, the Alaye of Orisumibare, Oba Akeeb Adebowale Rauf, and the Elegbeda of Egbeda, Oba Hammed Omogoriola Orelope Laka.
