The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has shortlisted eight candidates for decisive oral interviews in the ongoing selection process for permanent secretaries in the Federal Civil Service.
In a statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Eno Olotu, the office said the finalists emerged after excelling in earlier rigorous stages, including a comprehensive written examination and an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) proficiency test. The assessments gauged their knowledge, leadership skills, digital expertise and readiness to lead at the pinnacle of public service.

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan’s successor, Didi Walson-Jack, underscored the process’s integrity. “The invitation of these candidates restates the government’s resolve to appoint leaders of proven integrity, competence and expertise in the digital space, capable of steering and strengthening the reform initiatives and quality service delivery to Nigerians,” she stated.
Scheduled for Friday, February 27, 2026, the oral interviews will probe candidates’ leadership qualities, policy insights, administrative prowess and strategic vision. The aim is to ensure that the eventual appointees align with the Federal Civil Service’s role in advancing national development goals.
The office wished the candidates success, pledging to conclude the selection with “fairness, transparency and adherence to the principles of meritocracy”.
