The Katsina State Police Command says it has implemented robust security measures and deployed adequate assets and personnel to ensure the safety of lives and property before, during, and after the forthcoming Muslim Eid celebrations.

The police, in a statement on Wednesday, noted that “the command, in collaboration with sister security agencies in the state, is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for citizens to celebrate the festive period.”

The statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, said, “The command has banned Yan Tauri from participating in the Sallah Durbar, and this ban applies to any other individual or group bearing dangerous weapons such as knives, clubs, and swords.

“Members of the public are advised to comply with this directive so as to ensure a smooth and successful Durbar.

“The command urges parents and guardians to play a proactive role in cautioning their children and wards against engaging in vices that contradict the law, such as unlawful assembly, illegal horse riding, traffic offences, and other forms of anti-social behaviour.

“The command also warns criminal elements, especially social miscreants and individuals engaging in illegal activities, to refrain from such acts, as it is prepared to deal decisively with those who attempt to cause a breach of the relative peace being enjoyed in the state. The command will not hesitate to take stern action against anyone found flouting the law.

“The public is urged to be vigilant and promptly report incidents or suspicious activities to the command.

“Your cooperation and support are crucial in our efforts to maintain peace and security in the state. We assure the public of our commitment to protecting lives and property and will continue to work tirelessly towards ensuring a safer and more secure Katsina State.
