On May 27, a leading event centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, transformed into a colorful playground of joy and creativity as children from across the city gathered for an unforgettable Children’s Day celebration.
Themed, “Cheers to Our Superkids!”, the event offered an immersive experience where children were treated not just to games and goodies, but to moments that sparked imagination and learning. The day-long celebration was hosted by CWAY Food & Beverages, creators of the Nutri-Milk brand, as part of an ongoing effort to engage and inspire the next generation.
The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as young guests dived into face painting stations, tested their agility in interactive games, and danced with infectious energy during impromptu dance-offs. A surprise celebrity appearance sent cheers rippling through the crowd, and an exclusive movie screening added cinematic magic to an already spirited day.
For many of the children, it was more than just fun—it was a memory in the making.
Eight-year-old Chika Okonkwo, who attended with her cousins, said: “This is the best day of my life. I played games, danced, and even got a gift. I don’t want to go home.”
While the spotlight was on the children, the day also had deeper undertones—emphasizing cognitive development and emotional connection. Organizers highlighted the importance of nutrition in early development, drawing attention to nutrients like DHA, often included in children’s supplements and fortified drinks for their role in brain health.
Adam Olaleye, speaking on behalf of CWAY’s marketing director, reflected on the larger purpose behind the event. “We see kids as more than just part of the audience—they are our inspiration. This initiative is about encouraging their potential and letting them know they matter,” he said.
The celebration also doubled as a recognition ceremony for the winners of the Nutri-Milk Superkids Social Media Challenge. The online competition had invited parents to post cheerful moments of their children, spotlighting joy and creativity. Winners received VIP treatment, personalized gifts, and a moment in the limelight as they were featured in a special video montage at the event.
Behind the scenes, a coordinated digital campaign amplified the excitement. Quizzes, dance challenges, and giveaways on platforms like Facebook and Instagram drew participation from children and parents across Nigeria, creating a blend of virtual and physical engagement.
“Kids today live in both the digital and physical world,” said Odinaka George, who oversaw the digital campaign. “So we wanted to connect with them where they are—on screens and in real life.”
As the celebration came to a close, the children gathered for one final moment—a collective toast with raised drink bottles and a resounding cheer: “Cheers to our superkids!”
The message of the day was clear: in a fast-paced world, making time to celebrate and uplift children isn’t just a gesture—it’s an investment in a brighter future.
