Healthcare provider, Clarion Care & Senior Living, has brought innovation to the Nigerian health system with the promotion of home care services for the elderly and people in need of specialised medical attention and support, without the necessity of hospital admissions or institutionalisation in an old people’s home.

It has spent the past few years building a trusted home care service that brings professional, compassionate support directly to where seniors already are, surrounded by family, familiar faces and the comfort of their own environment.

For families across Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, Rivers State, growing older or caring for an ageing parent no longer has to mean choosing between quality care and staying close to home.

Speaking at a press briefing recently, the founder of the healthcare company, Ugochukwu Nwaelele, said: “Clarion Care & Senior Living provides professional in-home care services designed around the real needs of Nigerian families.”

He explained that they provide personal and companionship care, helping seniors with daily living activities while providing the human connection that keeps them engaged and emotionally supported.

Skilled nursing and medical support are delivered by trained caregivers and healthcare professionals, who understand the specific needs of elderly clients, including chronic condition management and post-hospital recovery care.

Nwaelele added that the firm provides live-in and respite care, giving families peace of mind, whether they need round-the-clock support or short-term relief; there is also dementia and specialised elderly care, tailored to clients who require extra patience, structure and trained attention.

“Every caregiver on our team is vetted, trained and supervised, and every care plan is built around the individual because no two families and no two seniors have the same needs.

“What sets Clarion Care apart is consistency. Whether a family is in Lagos, Abuja or Port Harcourt, they can expect the same standard of professionalism, warmth and reliability. “This multi-city presence means more Nigerian families and more of the diaspora seeking trustworthy care for parents back home, now have access to a name they can rely on,” he said

In its commitment to extend care to the aged even beyond the walls of any one home, it partnered with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS), Festac, Lagos.  From 7am, volunteers and Clarion Care team members came together for a hands-on morning of cleaning, painting and caring.

Nwaelele said, “It was a simple but meaningful reminder of what the Clarion Care name stands for. Care, after all, is not only in the services we provide to our clients, it is in the culture we build, the communities we show up for and the standards we hold ourselves to, even when no one is watching.”

He also noted that the collaboration with the LDS in Festac was an expression of a mission to make dependable, professional senior care accessible across Nigeria.
