The young Entrepreneur said this during the firm’s celebration of their first year anniversary at Motherless Babies Home where they shared $1,000 and gifts including toiletries, bags of rice, carton of noodles, amongst others.

While speaking to the kids on the impact of education, Shobowale said “I want to use this opportunity to encourage you all that it doesn’t matter where you are in life, God has called you for greatness and it’s not dependent on where you are coming from, with hard work, dedication to your studies and believing in God, you can become anything in life.”

Shobowale narrated how he lost his mother to medical complications while she was trying to deliver a baby when he was 8-years-old, and the condition that led to the eventual lost of his dad when he was about 12-13 years of age to sickness.

“I had a very rough journey surviving secondary school days and getting admission to study at the University of Ilorin was another hurdle. From my 100 level, I became a university scholar, 200 level, I went to represent the school out of the country, at my 300 level, I ran for the office of the Student Union President of about 70 thousand students, and I won.”

“When I finished serving, I didn’t look for a job because while in school, the Kwara State Governor at the time made me a peace ambassador, so due to my antecedent, I was called by someone in my church who told me to serve at a real estate firm. While serving, I sold properties worth about N250 million, the company compensated me with a car, sent me to Dubai and I was getting a good salary. In the second year, I sold properties worth about N1 billion naira, that was how I moved on selling better yearly, and eventually, I started my own company with a friend of mine. Everyone here today is part of our team at the company,” he added.

He continued, “Imagine abandoning school because I lost my parents, and doing some petty jobs. I possibly might not get to where I am today. Let my story motivate you.”

Reacting to the achievements of the company in the last one year, Shobowale said the company has gone far in the real estate sector securing affordable lands and houses for young and millennial landlords and landladies. And they are still looking forward to more.

The celebration featured football tournament between Dukiya staff members and their customers, a visit to the orphanage and an exclusive dinner at Raddison Blu Anchorage Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
