A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Kunle Adegoke, has joined the race for the 2026 gubernatorial election under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He declared his intention at the APC secretariat along Gbongan-Ibadan Road, Osogbo, yesterday.

Adegoke, who urged the party leadership and members of the APC to support him to emerge the governorship candidate of the party, promised not to disappoint them.

Noting that he had prepared for the job if emerged the candidate of the party, Adegoke promised that the agricultural revolution would be brought back to the state.

“There is a lot to be done because the situation in which our state has found itself today is not enviable, and without an economy that is able to make life more abundant for its people, there is nothing we can celebrate.

“I have perfected plans to ensure that the economy of Osun is completely re-engineered and overhauled. And to this extent, we are looking at things that we have, not only in terms of natural resources, we are equally looking at human resources.

“We have done a lot of work. We have done a lot of preparation since 2011 when I first came upon the idea that I would like to be governor one day in Osun State.

“I have been working seriously to ensure that what we call land management, what we call agric revolution will be brought to bear in Osun State,” he said.

He, however, promised to support whoever emerges as party’s flag bearer if he did not emerge.

“If I do not emerge the candidate of the All Progressives Congress after the primaries, I’m going to work continuously for the success of the party for the emergence of whoever succeeds in clinching the ticket of the party and at the end of the day, APC shall be the party to drive Osun State into prosperity,” he added.

The APC chairman in the state, Tajudeen Lawal, promised that the party would ensure a level playing ground for all the aspirants, advising them to prioritise the interest of the party.
