General Secretary of CityBoy Movement in Ogun State, Comrade Samson Ajasa Adeyemi has called on students and youths across Ogun State to actively participate in the political process and support leaders with proven records of performance as the state prepares for the 2027 governorship transition.

He made the call in a statement marking the third anniversary of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, as the Senator representing Ogun West senatorial district.

Daily Sun reports that Yayi is the gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State.

Adeyemi lauded the lawmaker’s achievements in education, youth empowerment, healthcare, infrastructure, and constituency outreach.

The former National Public Relations Officer of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) said Yayi has delivered visible, people-oriented representation through scholarships, bursaries, youth empowerment programmes, healthcare interventions, road projects, and regular community engagements over the past three years.

“Leadership is best measured not by the number of years spent in office but by the impact made in the lives of the people,” Adeyemi said in the statement.

He described Yayi’s interventions as “investments in the future of Ogun State,” particularly his focus on young people.

The youth leader also commended the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun for significant progress in infrastructure, industrialisation, economic growth, education, and governance reforms, stressing the need to protect and build on these gains beyond 2027.

He noted that discussions among community leaders, professionals, youths, and political stakeholders have positioned Yayi as a credible figure with the legislative experience, financial expertise, and capacity to consolidate developmental achievements in the state.

While acknowledging that the future of the state cannot be determined by political leaders alone, he urged youths, whom he described as the largest and most energetic segment of the population, to shun political apathy, register to vote, engage in informed discussions, and support candidates based on competence, character, vision, and track record.

“This is not a call for blind political loyalty. Rather, it is a call for informed participation,” Adeyemi stated.

He encouraged students and young people to organise within campuses, communities, and networks to advocate for good governance and responsible leadership.
