The overall winner of Ibom Open golf tournament Princewill Albert Akpan has lauded In-Motion estate firm for being his sponsor for the 2026 Ibom Open Golf tournament where 38 trophies were won by golfers in the weeklong event hosted at Ibom Golf and Country Resort, Uyo Akwa Ibom state
Speaking shortly after clinching the trophies, Akpan said all the trophies have been dedicated to In – Motion Business Limited as his only sponsors that carter for all his expenses in the tournament.
” Golf is something else. You don’t know the beginning and you don’t know the end .
“I thank my sponsor In – Motion Estate Developers. I promise them that by next year, I’ll win the trophies again ”
Tagged “Night of Champions , the Victor celebration was held at held at Nwaniba Hall of Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort to celebrate golf excellence with over 350 golfers within and outside Nigeria treated to some of the finest of Akwa Ibom hospitality.

Chief Isua Archibong while describing the event as historic appreciated golfers for their interest and support as well as partners for their sponsorship which culminated in making the tournament memorable and worthwhile.
He lauded Akwa Ibom state governor pastor Umo Eno for his commitment to making the State a prime tourism destination on African continent.
“Let me highlight government’s numerous infrastructural and socioeconomic interventions, including effective maintenance of the golf course and addition of a 9-hole golf course at the ARISE Palm Resort”
The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Dr Anieti Udofia pledged
to sustain the administration’s tourism drive and appreciated members of Ibom Golf Club for successful hosting of the tournament.
” I promise to partner the club in developing programmes that would bring the state more golfing acclaim” .
In his remark, former Governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada (Rtd) who participated in the tournament applauded the leadership and members of Ibom Golf and Country Club for effective planning and delivery of the tournament and appreciated the state as home to golfers.
Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Obong Umanah Okon Umanah while appreciating organizers of the tournament promised continuous support to the club.
” I also appreciate the State Government for providing World-class golfing infrastructures, to make the state a warm golfing destination”.
Sponsors of the tournament including Ship Africa, Ibom Air, First Bank and others expressed delight with the organizers for putting the State on the spotlight, while promising their continued support for golfers on the continent.
The weeklong tournament brought together public servants of note, captains of industry, business moguls, security chiefs, and captains of major golf clubs in the country.
