When it comes to marriage, forget former Mr Nigeria and now actor, Bryan Okwara. Reason: He would rather focus on taking care of himself and his family than commit to marriage.
Okwara told Saturday Sun: “I have no plans for marriage yet. But if God provides, we will do that. Anybody that finds a loving partner that is ready to tie the knot, he or she should go ahead; it’s a good thing. And if the person hasn’t found one, that’s also a good thing. We have to be confident in our skins, and be able to take care of family and ourselves. I think that is more important for now.”
Lending his voice to the high rate of ‘Japa’ amongst Nigerian youths, the light-skinned actor advised anyone with opportunity to make it in Nigeria, to stay back and help develop the country.
“If I were to speak on a broader spectrum, I think people are relocating because of opportunities. If you have opportunities here, why relocate? But if there are opportunities there, then relocate! That’s how I see it. I don’t think it’s a celebrity thing. I have friends who are not celebrities and they’ve relocated for greener pasture. But if you have an opportunity to do well in your country, that’s also fine,” he noted.
Okwara, who had taken a break from movies, avowed that he is back and better with over 40 movies to his credit. “Since I came back, I’ve shot over 40 movies. Most of them are on streaming platforms. I’m not the executive producer; executive producers know when they want to release their movies. I’m sure in due time they will start to flood your timeline. So, you see, the boy’s been busy. And I also don’t charge in dollars (laughs). I get paid in my local currency, depending on the gig though.”
