Global leader of the Tijaniyya Islamic movement, Sheikh Mahi Ibrahim-Niass on Friday joined President Bola Tinubu for the Jumma’at prayer at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The cleric, who is the current Khalifah (successor) of Sheikh Ibrahim Niass and the President of the African Islamic Union, led a special prayer session for the success of President Tinubu’s administration alongside prominent leaders of the Tijaniyya movement in Nigeria.
Speaking to State House Correspondents after the prayer session, Sheikh Mahi explained that his visit to Nigeria was part of his annual tradition of seeking divine intervention for the country’s peace, security, and economic prosperity.
He assured of his commitment to praying for Nigeria’s progress and stability, noting that this year’s visit included stops in Bauchi State and other parts of the country.
The cleric commended President Tinubu for his leadership qualities, describing him as a patriotic and compassionate leader who is deeply concerned about the welfare of Nigerians and the nation’s development. “Every year I visit Nigeria from Senegal to pray for peace, stability, and development. Over the last few days, I visited Bauchi State and other parts of the country,” Sheikh Mahi said.
He expressed appreciation for the warm reception he received from President Tinubu and highlighted their shared commitment to Nigeria’s progress.
“We observed Jumma’at prayer together, which reflects how much President Tinubu cares about Nigeria and its people,” he added.
Sheikh Mahi concluded with heartfelt prayers for Nigeria’s future: “May Almighty Allah grant Nigeria economic stability and bring lasting peace to all areas affected by insecurity.”
