Following the tragic deaths of three members of the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN) in a car accident, Prophet Isah El-Buba, founder of El-Buba Outreach Ministries International (EBOMI), has announced the cancellation of a prayer outreach scheduled for Jalingo.
In a statement released on Monday, Dr Olu Jacobs, Chairman of the Publicity Subcommittee for EBOMI, expressed deep sorrow over the accident and the loss of life. He stated that the decision to postpone the prayer conference was made out of respect for the victims and their families.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased, as well as with WOWICAN, the leadership of CAN Taraba State, the State Government, and the good people of Taraba State during this difficult time,” Dr. Jacobs said. “We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to all those affected by this unfortunate event.”
Meanwhile, Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State has expressed his condolences over the deaths of the WOWICAN members. He described the accident as “heartbreaking and devastating” and offered his prayers for the repose of the souls of the deceased.
“The circumstances of their death is regrettably tragic as they were returning from the women’s wing CAN Conference which ended yesterday in Gembu, Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba state,” Governor Ishaku said in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication, Mr Emmanuel Bello.
The Governor also pledged his administration’s commitment to improving road safety in the state. He directed local government chairmen to maintain existing roads with proper traffic controls, signage, and basic repairs.
“I will work hard to minimize the sad occurrences of road mishaps occasioned by bad roads in the state,” Governor Ishaku stated.
