Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East, has asserted that Governor Ademola Adeleke has failed to grasp the significance of losing two senators and three members of the House of Representatives to another party.
Speaking at a media chat in his hometown of Ilase-Ijesa, on Sunday, Fadahunsi who officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the weekend boldly declared, “Adeleke is gone,” emphasizing that his actions will speak louder than words.
Fadahunsi reacted to claims from the state government that the crowd at the Freedom Park event, where defecting legislators gathered, was merely rented. He challenged the government, urging them to “wait and see” the repercussions of their actions.
Criticizing Adeleke directly, Fadahunsi stated, “He has never bought a single vehicle for security” and accused the governor of being distracted by dancing until another candidate emerged victorious in the PDP. “They were celebrating until Fryo took over and defeated the dancing governor. Adeleke resigned after the boy won; they are disorganized,” he stated.
Using transport union slang, Fadahunsi added, “If you chop alone, you will die alone,” implying that the governor and his team have only served their own interests. He warned that if they continue this way for eight years, “Osun is gone.”

Fadahunsi suggested that Adeleke’s defection to the Accord Party was evidence of his awareness that he no longer belonged in the PDP. He further hinted at internal conflicts within the Accord Party, saying that is why the chairman has yet to leave the PDP.
Referring to a previous legal matter, he recalled, “When we left the PDP, he was ordered by the slave traders to sue me in federal court. They are gone. I don’t speak much because those who want to act don’t need to talk incessantly.”
Fadahunsi also addressed accusations that his faction is a liability to the APC, stating, “Good, liability is a load. We are removing the load from them. They are free now to carry any other load.
“We have not started on them. They must account for what they have taken, including the loan they secured. As a father, I won’t talk too much to them,” Fadahunsi said.
