A Romanian engineer, Mr. Christian Nedelcu, 52, was yesterday abducted by gunmen who swooped on him and others in Delta State.
The expatriate, it was gathered, was abducted when armed men attacked his team at Railway Village in Owa Oyibo, Agbor, Delta State.
Sources revealed that there was exchange of gunfire between security personnel escorting the Romanian and others, after which the engineer was abducted.
Lamenting the incident, Romanian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. George, expressed sadness.
He called on the Federal Government, Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and other security agencies to do everything to rescue the engineer.
