Nigerian former international, Samson Siasia, has directed Super Eagles technical adviser and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical director, Austin Eguavoen, to quit one of the two positions he currently occupies to enable him concentrate in one of them.

Siasia gave the advice in Abuja on the sidelines of the novelty football match in honour of the Chairman of National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko.

Siasia also furiously frowned against the proposal to hire a foreign technical adviser for the Super Eagles, arguing that there are enough good tacticians among the myriads of Nigerian coaches to do a marvelous job.

He however expressed disappointment over the Super Eagles recent encounter against the Rwandan national team, emphasising that the outcome of the match will certainly count against the country’s reputation as a football giant.

Responding to the call for a foreign coach after losing the match against Rwanda, the owner of SiaOne football academy, said: “we don’t want any foreign coach here because they are not coming to do anything. We have enough good materials at home that we should not be talking about hiring a foreign coach.

“As for Austin Eguavoen’s future with the Super Eagles, I will suggest that we wait a while to see how the team will be. It is a very young team. Eguaveon has a job already as the technical director. He should resign as Super Eagles manager and concentrate on his job. He cannot hold two positions at the same time. He should actually decide on which one to hold and leave the other,” he argued.

Speaking on the Super Eagles outing against Rwanda, Siasia said; “Losing at home is not a good thing. It was like they did not play to win. But, it is understandable why they did not play as we are expected and that was because they have qualified for the AFCON tournament.

“However, they ought not to have forgotten that anytime Super Eagles play and lose, they will count it against the country. It has gone into history that the Super Eagles lost against Rwanda at home even,” Siasia noted.
