Operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two suspected cattle rustlers and recovered a stolen cow, a knife, and a vehicle used to commit the crime.
The suspects, Muhammed Monsur and Olaseinde Olatunji, were nabbed in the early hours of Thursday, April 30, 2026, at about 2:30 a.m., following a distress call from a farmer in the Ifo/Ibogun axis of the state.
Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the suspects and their accomplices had invaded a dairy farm at Omitoro Village via Coker, Ifo/Ibogun, and made away with a cow before operatives swung into action.
Operatives of SWAT, upon receiving the distress call, immediately mobilised to the scene. The suspects, who had attempted to flee the farm in a minibus popularly known as “Korope,” were intercepted after their suspicious movements were noticed and an alarm was raised.
