Plateau Governorship Election: Jang and Dariye congratulate Mutfwang

From Gyang Bere, Jos

Former Governor of Plateau State Sen Jonah David Jang has congratulated Plateau State Governor-Elect Barr Caleb Mutfwang on his victory in the recent governorship election held on March 18.

In a press statement signed by his Media Consultant, Clinton Garuba, Jang praised the people of Plateau for their political awareness and for taking their destinies into their own hands by choosing those who govern them.

Jang said, “We must confess that Plateau is endowed with people of character, capacity, will, and strength to further the cause of the state. This keenly contested election had an array of some of Plateau’s finest crop of politicians and now that the people have decided in favour of the PDP, we rejoice with the winner.”

He urged the winner to embrace everyone and bear in mind that he will now be responsible for the wellbeing of not only his party members and supporters across party divides but for everyone who is on the Plateau.

Jang reminded the Governor-Elect of his campaign promise to carry everyone along irrespective of tribe, religious affiliation, political inclination or other kinds of leanings.

Former Governor Joshua Dariye also congratulated the Governor-Elect and called on the Plateau people to give Mutfwang the needed support to take Plateau to the next level. He noted that the election was not all about him as a person but Plateau as a state.

Jang admonished the Governor-Elect to concentrate on working for the good of the Plateau people to make everyone both in the state and beyond proud. He stated that the incoming governor cannot afford to fail his people – the Plateau people. Jang urged Mutfwang to be magnanimous in victory and be the leader everyone will love to have.
