The Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) has expelled former governor of Enugu State, Chimaroke Nnamani, as well as six other members of the party, effective from Friday. 

The PDP, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, on Friday, said others expelled included Chris Ogbu from the Imo State chapter, Ajijola Lateef Oladimeji -(Ekiti Central), Olayinka James Olalere  -(Ekiti Central II), Fayose Oluwajomiloju John (Ekiti Central I), Akerele Oluyinka , (Ekiti North I), Emiola Adenike Jennifer  -(Ekiti South II).

The party noted that the expulsion of the seven members was sequel of the recommendation disciplinary panel, which treated allegations anti-party activities against the affected members. Recall that the PDP had suspended Nnamani and the other affected members for alleged anti-party activities.

“The expulsion takes effect from today, Friday, February 10, 2023. The decision of the NWC is sequel to the recommendation of the National Disciplinary Committee and pursuant to Sections 58 and 59 (1)(g) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017),” the statement said.
