Wife of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, Mrs. Priscilla Otti has visited the Amaudo Mental Health Facility in Itumbauzo, the Uzuakoli Leprosy Settlement and Arochukwu Correctional Centre where she pledged Government’s support for the inmates.

At the Mental Home, Mrs. Otti restated the State Government’s commitment to protecting the welfare and dignity of vulnerable citizens across the state.

Represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Maureen Aghukwa, the Abia First Lady assured the inmates that they remain an important part of the government’s social responsibility agenda.

She explained that the present administration is guided by values of empathy, inclusion, and respect for the dignity of every human person, adding that governance must reach beyond urban centres and political offices to embrace those in special care institutions.

She said the distribution of food items and essential supplies was part of the government’s broader effort to ensure that vulnerable populations feel supported and valued.

The Very Reverend Ken Nwaubani, who received the donated items, thanked Governor Alex Otti and his wife for their consistent concern for the facility.

He noted that the road project leading to the Home has eased years of hardship and restored a sense of dignity to residents and caregivers alike.

Speaking at the Leprosy Centre, Mrs.Otti equally represented by Dr. Aghukwa stated that the current administration remains focused on rebuilding Abia through targeted investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social welfare.

She assured them that no group would be excluded from the benefits of governance in the state.

At the Arochukwu Correctional Centre, the Abia First Lady urged the inmates to embrace positive transformation and avoid actions that could lead back to prison after being released.

She expressed confidence that the inmates would emerge from the process renewed, responsible, and better equipped to contribute meaningfully to society,

Mrs. Otti donated cash and other essential items to the centres for the inmates upkeep.
