The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has announced that up to 100,000 residents across Ogun State will benefit from a new monthly cash support initiative under the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme.
The governor disclosed this on Friday during the opening session of the 15th Synod of the Remo Anglican Diocese held at Our Saviour’s Anglican Church in Ikenne.
According to Abiodun, the intervention programme is designed to ease economic hardship and expand opportunities for residents at the grassroots level across all 236 wards in the state.
He explained that between 50,000 and 100,000 people are expected to receive monthly financial support within the next year as part of his administration’s broader economic and social development agenda.
“Our administration remains committed to creating renewed opportunities for the economy, institutions, and the people of Ogun State,” the governor said while addressing clergy, government officials, and members of the Anglican Communion.

Abiodun also revealed that his government would prioritise the reconstruction of the Sagamu–Ode Lemo Road, stressing the importance of improved infrastructure in boosting economic activities and connectivity within the state.
The governor further emphasised the need for stronger collaboration between religious institutions and government, noting that such partnerships are essential for building a peaceful and progressive society.
Dapo Abiodun commended the Church for its contributions to education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and moral development, while also urging religious leaders to encourage citizens to participate actively in the democratic process by registering and voting during elections.
While delivering his sermon to the crowd, Olusina Fape highlighted the progress made by the Ogun State government through the ISEYA agenda. He mentioned key projects like the Gateway International Airport. Also, the statewide Light Up Ogun initiative. These efforts, he believes, are setting the stage for more economic growth and better investment opportunities in the state.
The synod, themed “The Empty Tomb: An Authentic Proof of the Living Saviour, Jesus Christ,” brought together a diverse group. Religious leaders were there, along with political appointees and various prominent individuals from the state. It was quite a gathering, showcasing a blend of faith and influence.
