Member of the House of Representatives, representing Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency of Imo State, Ikemga Ugochinyere, has expanded his rural electrification project with the installation of transformers in communities in the Constituency.
Ugochinyere, according a statement by his media office, has through his Operation Light Up Ideato Project, installed 500KVA transformers and associated electricity infrastructure in Ogwume, Dikenafai and Akpulu.
The lawmaker, who is also the chairman, House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), through the latest intervention has now delivered transformers to seven communities, including Umuopia, Obodoukwu, Abukwa and Umukegwu through the initiative.
According to the statement, “the commitment of Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere to addressing critical infrastructure needs at the grassroots and ensuring that communities that have long experienced inadequate electricity infrastructure are not left behind.
“Unlike a one off intervention, Operation Light Up Ideato is being implemented as a continuing community focused programme, with more transformers expected to be supplied and installed in additional communities identified as being in need.”
It quoted the lawmaker as assuring that through the initiative every community in Ideato that requires electricity infrastructure, would be reached.
