The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has unveiled the zonal campaign council for Kano North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 Presidential and National Assembly elections, slated for January 16, 2027.
Senator Barau, who represents the Kano North Senatorial District in the Senate, unveiled the zonal campaign council members in a statement signed by his media aide, Ismail Mudashir.
The Managing Director of the Hadeja Jama’are River Basin Development Authority and former Secretary to the Kano State Government, Engineer Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi, is the chairman of the council.
The Kano State Commissioner of Education, Dr Ali Haruna Makoda, is to serve as Deputy Chairman, while the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, and the former Surveyor General of the Federation, Surveyor Nadu Yahaya, is the council’s secretary.
The trio of Dr Kabiru Ado Zakirai, Hon. Ahmed Haruna Bichi and Hon. Idris Unguwar Rimi are to serve as Deputy Secretary I, II and III respectively.
A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Farouk Lawan, is to serve as Vice Chairman (I); Hon. Saidu Garba Getso, Vice Chairman (II); and Hon. Badamasi Ayuba, Vice Chairman (III).
A veteran grassroots mobiliser, Alhaji Yusuf Tumfafi, is the Director General of the campaign council, while Hon. Yusuf Yusuf Tabuka, Hon. Auwalu Ibrahim Danzabuwa, Hon. Ali Ado Bagwai and Hon. Ali Gumawa are to serve as Deputy Director-General I, II, III and IV, respectively.
The 13 local government area campaign committee Chairmen and co-chairmen are as follows: Shanono: Chairman – Executive Chairman of Shanono LGA and Co-Chairman – Hon. Ahmed Moh’d Kadamu; Bagwai: Chairman – Executive Chairman of Bagwai LGA andCo-Chairman – Hon. Inuwa Zangina Dangada; Gwarzo: Chairman – Executive Chairman of Gwarzo LGA and Co-Chairman – Hon. Kabiru Ado Lakwaya;
Kabo: Chairman – Executive Chairman of Kabo LGA and Co-Chairman – Hon. Ado Aliyu Wari; Rimin Gado: Chairman – Executive Chairman of Rimin Gado LGA, and Co-Chairman – Hon. Mannir Dahiru; and Tofa: Chairman – Executive Chairman of Tofa LGA and Co-Chairman – Hon. Rabiu Garba Yerimawa.

The membership of the zonal campaign committee comprises all serving and former Governors/Deputy Governors, Senators and members of the House of Representatives from the Zone.
All House of Representatives and Kano State House of Assembly APC candidates from the Zone, all serving and former elected officials at the State and National levels from the Zone, all State Excos, Zonal Executive members, L.G.A. Chairmen, L.G.A. APC Chairmen, LGA APC Caucus Chairmen from the Zone and all serving and former federal and state appointees from the Zone.
The Local Government Areas campaign committee membership includes all members of the Zonal Campaign Committee from the Local Government area, all former and serving elected officials from the Local Government area, all former members of the State House of Assembly, former Local Government Chairmen and Vice Chairmen, former commissioners, former advisers, serving and former council secretaries, councilors, supervisory councilors and L.G.A. advisers from the Local Government Area and all other appointees by the State Government from the Local Government area, all Local Government Area APC Executive members, ward chairmen and secretaries the from the Local Government Area, all Members of Local Government Area Caucus/Elders Committee, as well as all former executive committee members of the APC at the Local Government Area, Zonal and State levels from the Local Government Area and all Senior Legislative Aides and Special Assistants to the Deputy President of the Senate from the Local Government Area as members.
The membership of the ward committee includes: all members of the Zonal Campaign Committee from the Ward, all members of the Local Government Area Campaign Committee from the Ward and all serving and non-serving councillors, supervisory councillors, ward caucus members, and all present and past ward Executive members of the APC as members.
The Deputy President of the Senate charged all members of the Campaign Council to take the APC campaign to every nook and cranny of the Kano North Senatorial District, mobilising massive support for all APC candidates.
He emphasised that the achievements of the administration speak for themselves, with impactful interventions cutting across all critical sectors and touching the lives of constituents positively.
Senator Barau, therefore, urged the campaign council to take the message of the achievements to the people and secure overwhelming support for the APC at the polls.
