Medical doctor, Dr. Olusina Ajidahun has warned that viral remarks by a daughter of veteran actor, Taiwo Hassan aka Ogogo about her father’s stage 4 cancer “can set the tides against the medical team” and trigger anger toward health workers.
Ajidahun disclosed this in an X post on Monday after the actor’s daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, raised alarm about his health condition.
In an emotional video shared on Instagram, Lima claimed the actor’s condition had deteriorated and that hospitals had refused to treat him.
Ajidahun faulted her “they don’t want to treat my father again” remark, saying it was dangerous.
He explained, “When patients have stage 4 cancer and chemo and or other therapies have been explored. There is a form of care called palliative care.. which is an end of life care and care for terminal diseases because at the point of the disease you cannot treat it but you can manage associated symptoms and give the person a good quality of life before death.
“Saying They don’t want to treat my father makes it look like they are intentionally rejecting him and in context of recent happening the health sector, it can trigger an insurrection and put a bad label to health care workers.”
Ajidahun, a prominent voice in health advocacy, clarified that he has “no links of medical care to the family” and was speaking as “an independent party just criticising the video.”
The doctor also cautioned against seeking herbal cures for advanced cancer.
Quoting Lima’s public appeal for herbs that treat cancer, Ajidahun said, “Don’t do this.. There are no herbs that will treat a stage 4 cancer. These concoctions will end up damaging more organs and causing more complications. You’d end up wasting money and causing more problems.”
The doctor added, “People need to understand that stage 4 cancer means the cancer has left primary organ and gone to other sites. Your doctor knows what’s best and it is good you work hand in hand with the team to give the best productivity.
“I do hope Ogogo’s daughter and family sees this. Wishing the family all the best throughout the trying times.”
Hassan, 65, made headlines in July 2025 after revealing he battled a “strange sickness” for seven years.
He said he was diagnosed with chronic ulcer and “couldn’t eat anything except pap”, adding that he “started vomiting blood for seven months”.
He also said the illness affected his ability to work but he did not sell any properties.
