Nigeria and China are set to deepen their economic and trade relations through the 2025 edition of the China Commodities Expo-Nigeria, scheduled to take place from November 5 to November 7, 2025, at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The annual Expo, organised by the Trade Development Bureau of China’s Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with Brightway International Exhibition, enjoys strong backing from various Chinese provincial governments, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Nigeria, and both the state and federal governments of Nigeria. The event is expected to attract more than 250 Chinese manufacturers and over 5,000 business representatives from across sectors.
Chief Representative Officer, Brightway International Exhibition, Muheez Ojulari, described the Expo as a vital platform for promoting economic cooperation across diverse industries and fostering direct engagement between Nigerian entrepreneurs and Chinese manufacturers.
According to the organisers, the exhibition will feature a wide range of products from sectors, including automobile and motorcycle spare parts, machine tools, food processing and packaging, fashion and textiles, construction and building materials, agricultural machinery, electrical and electronic products, home appliances, medical equipment, renewable energy, and other cutting-edge technologies.
“With free entry for visitors and a dedicated B2B meeting area, the Expo aims to facilitate efficient business matchmaking and investment discussions between Nigerian enterprises and their Chinese counterparts,” Ojulari said.
Targeting a broad audience that includes importers, exporters, business executives, government officials, entrepreneurs, and graduates, the Expo provides an important opportunity for networking, partnership building, and access to new markets. Participants are expected to benefit from exposure to new suppliers, potential investors, and venture capitalists, while gaining insights into emerging technologies and trends.
The organisers further stated that the bilateral trade between China and Nigeria has experienced remarkable growth in recent years.
According to Chinese customs data, they disclosed, trade between the two nations reached $23.9 billion in 2022, with China exporting $22.3 billion worth of goods to Nigeria and importing $1.6 billion.
