The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected notorious armed robbers and recovered firearms in an intelligence-driven operation in Lafia, the state capital.
The suspects, Kabiru Isah and Monday Bulus, were arrested on Friday night, 10 January 2026, at about 10:00 p.m. by operatives of the command’s Anti-Robbery Section.
Police said the duo had been on the command’s wanted list for their alleged involvement in several armed robbery attacks across the state.
Confirming the arrest on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ramhan Nansel, said the operation was carried out following credible intelligence.
“Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives arrested the two suspects, who are known for their involvement in several armed robbery operations across Nasarawa State,” Nansel said.
He disclosed that one G3 rifle without a serial number was recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest, while a follow-up operation conducted on Sunday led to the recovery of a pump-action rifle.

“They were already under surveillance by the police before nemesis caught up with them,” he added.
Commending the operatives, the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, described the arrest as a testament to the command’s commitment to tackling crime in the state.
“The Commissioner has ordered a thorough investigation and charged officers and men of the Command to sustain the onslaught against criminal elements,” Nansel said.
He assured residents of continued police vigilance and said the suspects would be charged to court at the conclusion of investigations.
