Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is set to visit China.
The visit, according to the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Guo Jiakun, will be President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s first visit to China since assuming office.
Guo said that during the visit, Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold a welcome ceremony and a state banquet for the Namibian president, and the two leaders will hold talks.
“Premier Li Qiang and Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee Zhao Leji will meet with her respectively. President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah will also visit Guangdong Province and Sichuan Province,” Guo said.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson further said China and Namibia are comprehensive strategic cooperative partners with a longstanding traditional friendship.
He added that over the past 36 years of diplomatic relations, the two countries have weathered changes in the international landscape and emerged with stronger bilateral ties.
“Today, the two countries enjoy ever-deepening political mutual trust and fruitful cooperation for mutual benefit. We are working together to achieve development and prosperity and stand in solidarity and coordination for international fairness and justice.
“We believe that this visit will bring China-Namibia relations to a new height and contribute to building an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era and the pursuit of the Global South for strength through unity,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chinese government’s second medical expert team has recently departed for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
Confirming the development, Guo said China attaches great importance to the new Ebola outbreak in Africa and promptly dispatched its first five-member medical expert team to the DRC to provide support and guidance for the Ebola response.
He said the team’s work has been highly commended by all parties.
Guo added that in the early hours of July 3, 2026, the second Chinese government medical expert team departed Beijing for the DRC.
The team, he disclosed, is composed of experts in epidemiology, clinical treatment and health quarantine.
Guo said, “Building on the work of the first team, it will continue to strengthen exchanges with the DRC and international organisations and promote scientific and technological cooperation in light of local conditions and the needs of the DRC.
“As the Ebola outbreak continues to spread, China will continue providing assistance within its capacity to African countries and help Africa overcome the outbreak at an early date.”
