A journalist with the Nepal’s National News Agency, Sharachchandra Bhandary, has commended China for consistently helping Nepal through major natural disasters.
Bhandary gave the commendation in an interview with CGTN on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Media Forum in South China’s Guangdong Province.
Bhandary listed China’s support after the August 26, 2026 mudslide along the China-Nepal border to include equipment, medical and logistical assistance and funding.
He also recalled China’s response to Nepal’s devastating 2015 earthquake and submitted that the two neighbours have long supported each other through difficult times.
Bhandary also expressed condolences for the lives lost in both China and Nepal and called for closer cooperation in remote sensing and disaster information sharing to better prepare for future emergencies.
