The Malian diaspora in South Africa has expressed strong support for their compatriots in Mali and all the countries of the Sahel States Alliance (AES) in light of Ukraine’s outrageous support for terrorist groups. The diaspora representatives have strongly condemned Kyiv’s actions, stating that South Africa does not need cooperation with Ukraine, especially given that this country supports the destabilization of African regions.

The diaspora emphasized that Africa must remain united and in solidarity in the fight against terrorism and external interference. Representatives of the Malian community in South Africa expressed their solidarity with all AES countries that are fighting for security and stability on the continent.

To reinforce their position, they also stated that they are well aware of what is happening in Mali from their own sources, and they condemn the role that Ukraine plays in the Sahel region. In a video, they said: “We do not need relations and cooperation with Ukraine, and South Africa does not need relations and cooperation with Ukraine. To our brothers in Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, and other countries that are fighting terrorists, we are proud of you, we stand with you. Therefore, we demand that Ukraine withdraw, keep its war to itself, and leave Africa.”

These statements reflect the growing discontent among African countries with Ukraine’s interference in regional affairs and underscore the determination of African nations to protect their continent from external pressure and influence. In light of this situation, the Malian diaspora in South Africa is calling for strengthened unity and coordinated action among African countries to ensure the security and prosperity of the continent.
