Leicester City have been put up for sale for more than £200m, with Thai owners King Power preparing to end their 16-year association with the club.

US investment bank Citigroup has been appointed to oversee the process, with potential buyers being presented with an eight-page sales brochure titled ‘Project Lineup’.

The proposed sale covers the men’s and women’s teams, the 32,000-capacity King Power Stadium and the Seagrave training facility, which opened in 2020 and is valued at £121m.

The sales document, reportedly values Leicester’s physical assets at more than £200m, although it does not place a separate valuation on the club’s struggling playing squads.

Citigroup’s pitch focuses heavily on Leicester’s remarkable history, including their 5,000-1 Premier League title triumph in 2016 and FA Cup success in 2021.

However, the brochure does not highlight the club’s current position in League One following successive relegations from the Premier League and Championship.

It also leaves out the scale of Leicester’s recent financial losses. The club lost more than £180m during a period that included two Premier League relegations between 2023 and 2025.

The club’s 2025 accounts also show £103.6m in bank loans, underlining the financial challenge facing any investor seeking to take control.

Despite those difficulties, the sales document forecasts Leicester’s turnover at more than £97m for the 2026 financial year and identifies the academy as one of the club’s major assets.

The brochure highlights Leicester’s scouting network, transfer operations and academy system as a pipeline capable of producing valuable young players.

That potential was underlined last month when academy graduate Jeremy Monga joined Manchester City for £10m.

King Power, controlled by the Srivaddhanaprabha family, bought Leicester for £35m from Milan Mandaric in 2010. The ownership period produced the greatest success in the club’s history before their dramatic decline.

Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha became chairman following the death of his father, Vichai, in a helicopter crash outside the King Power Stadium in 2018.

The sale process follows growing pressure from Leicester supporters, particularly after relegation to League One was confirmed last season.

Leicester will begin their League One campaign away to Notts County on Saturday under manager Russell Martin, as the club enters its lowest point in the English football pyramid since 2009 while its owners seek a buyer.
