Budding Nigerian artiste Ikechukwu Damian, better known with his stage name Kunta1don is eager to take over the firecely competitive Nigerian music industry.
In this brief interview with Daily Sun, the multi talented entertainer shares his success story, aspirations as well as his creative process.

Can you tell us more about your background?

I’m from Imo State, Owerri to be precise, but I was born and brought up in Lagos.

 

How was growing up for you?

Tough, It wasn’t easy due to the environment but I’m very grateful to God for today.

 

Who inspired you to make music?

A lot of artiste inspired me. I think 50 cent did the most, especially because of his struggles and come stories.

 

 

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

(Laughs)I will describe the kind of music that I create as a Global Sound, That’s how I want it to be, something anyone, everyone can relate to.

 

What is your creative process like?

It varies, depending on vibes and also atmosphere… In my term, i’d call it a (Magical) process.

 

 

As a rising star, which popular artiste would you most like to collaborate with?

Wizkid for Sure… And a lot more hopefully.

 

What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?

Football / Creative Director

Where have you performed? What are your favourite and least favourite venues?

I’ve Performed in club appearances , some free Shows and many more. My Favorite was with David, when came to perform at the the Soweto stadium in South Africa.

 

 

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?

A lot, who could have though. I mean I’m super excited for what’s still to come in the Future.

JayZ, 50 cent, Burna Boy , Wizkid, Davido, Alkaline

 

What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?

A fight.

 

 

If you could change anything about the Nigerian industry, what would it be?

Sentiments, Biases, Corruption.

 

 

What is one message you would give to your fans?
