Obviously you’ve had a bit of a tough start with injury, but what can you tell us about the club?
Walking to Sevilla you feel it’s a great club. You just want to freeze. I don’t know if I can say it right. Anyone who knows Sevilla, there’s only one thing you feel, you don’t need to be told. The atmosphere, how everything is set up, the professionalism, everything. It’s a great club with great history.
You came in from the French Ligue 1 and Monaco in particular and how has the experience been?
I was in France for a year and a half season and a half. and I’ve been in Sevilla for two months but like I said, until you come inside you don’t know. Very great outside but inside is even more spectacular. As for the administration, you don’t have to worry about anything; about where to live or how to go about my day. I just have to train them make sure everything is ne.
For you to do that, and it’s very important, you don’t have to worry about anything so. Settling down was very good for me. Very, very good.
The Super Eagles play in the World Cup qualifiers, you were in the initial 39-man list but out of the final 23. How do you feel? And the next couple of months, because the next game will be coming up in June, so are you con dent you can be part of this family?
Even though I was just coming back from injury I’m grateful to God to be considered amongst the 39 because we have so many players in Nigeria.
The focus for me right now is absolutely on Sevilla because we have a lot of objectives to catch up to in the season.
And the better I do well for my club, I think the opportunity for national team will come. We have good players, really good strikers as well
Going through your profile, one account says you are from Kogi State yet another claim you’re from Benue State. Can you clarify this once and for all?
It’s a very very long story to be honest. I was born in Kogi and I speak Igalla very well but my parents are from Benue.
Coming into Sevilla, what is the motivation?
You just don’t say no to Sevilla, you don’t say enough to a club like Se- villa. It’s the champions of Europe if you go through the archives. I’ve watched Sevilla countless times in Europe and even in Nigeria growing up in the academy.
For me, I hope not just only a privilege. It was an opportunity I could not turn down. And there were clubs that were speaking to me but once Sevilla came into the picture it was done, because from the analysis and how they know me, what they want from me and I think they were sure.
