Guinness Nigeria Plc has reaffirmed its confidence in the outlook of its business, signalling a new phase of growth driven by improved profitability, a stronger balance sheet and continued investment in its brands, manufacturing capacity and route-to-market operations.

The company shared this outlook during its H1 2026 Investors and Analysts Call, where Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Girish Sharma; Finance and Strategy Director, Mayank Kabra; and Corporate Relations and Legal Director, Rotimi Odusola, provided investors and analysts with an update on the company’s financial performance, strategic priorities and outlook.

According to the update, Guinness Nigeria delivered a strong performance for the six months ended June 30, 2026, reporting approximately N265 billion in revenue, while profit after tax rose by 53 per cent to N25.3 billion. Net sales value increased by almost 12 per cent, while operating profit grew by 15 per cent. Gross profit and operating margins stood at approximately 37 per cent and 16 per cent, respectively.

The performance was said to reflect the company’s continued focus on driving quality growth, improving operational efficiency and strengthening its financial position.

A key highlight of the period was Guinness Nigeria’s significant progress in deleveraging and rebuilding its balance sheet. Shareholders’ equity increased from N43.3 billion to N64.2 billion, while net debt declined substantially from approximately N37 billion to about N19 billion.

Speaking during the call, Sharma said the company’s progress reflected a deliberate focus on building a stronger and more resilient business.

“We have made significant progress in strengthening our financial position while continuing to invest in the growth of the business. The days of operating with a weak balance sheet are behind us. Today, we are in a much stronger position to pursue growth, improve returns and create sustainable value for our shareholders and other stakeholders.”

The company’s improved financial position was said to have been achieved alongside continued investment in its long-term growth agenda. “During the first half of the year, Guinness Nigeria deployed almost N20 billion in capital expenditure on strategic growth initiatives, manufacturing and infrastructure, while returning approximately N20 billion to shareholders through dividends.

“Despite a challenging operating environment characterised by inflationary pressures, declining consumer purchasing power and continued foreign exchange volatility, the company remains focused on strengthening its brands, expanding consumer access and capturing opportunities across its portfolio.

Sharma said the company’s strategy remained focused on balancing growth with financial discipline.“Our focus is not simply on growing bigger, but on building a stronger, more efficient and more sustainable business. With a healthier balance sheet, strong brands, an extensive route to market and continued investment behind our growth priorities, we are better positioned to navigate the operating environment and capture the opportunities ahead.”
